In partnership with Empowerdance, focusing on Commercial Dance, the CERTIFICATE III in DANCE program at CPAC is a 1 day per week part-time course that delivers a Nationally Recognised Qualification in partnership with Empowerdance (RTO 40397) upon completion.
The Certificate III in Dance program at Conroy Performing Arts College offers talented Secondary School students aged 14yrs+ a full day of intensive performing arts training and a Government Recognised Certificate in partnership with Empowerdance (RTO 40397). Students may choose to focus on either Commercial Dance OR Musical Theatre via elective opportunities.
The CUA30120 compliments students’ Secondary School studies with 8 credit points towards QCE.
Students may choose to include a full compliment of weekend and evening classes at the Conroy Dance Centre.
The Certificate III in Dance course compromises practical dance training, developing and refining technical ability across a wide range of dance genres. Students attend 1 day per week of intensive commercial & performing arts classes, and participate in practical performances and productions throughout the course.
In addition to developing their dance, vocal and performance ability, students gain a deeper education in dance, anatomy, musicality, performance and the ability to work professionally within a group. They also benefit from exposure to the wide variety of industry choreographers and guest tutors at CPAC.
This program covers all the essential genres for a successful career in the entertainment industry. These classes include:
Opportunity to spotlight & extend their expertise in their own choice of specialist field as an elective option (eg. silks/hoops, latin, tap).
In addition to dance & performance classes Student’s also study anatomy, musicality, choreography, presentation, theatrical make-up
Learn about professional presentation including CVs, headshots and showreels, gaining skills to help secure a successful career.
To be awarded the CUA30120 CERTIFICATE III IN DANCE students must complete 13 units of competency – 5 core units, and 8 elective units. Participants who do not successfully complete all the requirements for the qualification will be issued a Statement of Attainment listing those units attained. Students may choose to focus on either Commercial Dance OR Musical Theatre via elective options.
